My wife is needs to buy a suv or wants to buy one for our baby to be born and we have been looking at between 35-40k price range. So, far we like Chevy Traverse, Jeep Cherokee, Gmc Acaida( which is more than the Traverse), Dodge Durango, and Acura Rdx. We are looking more at the Chevy and the Jeep but we heard that the jeep wasn't safe in car accidents. Can anyone confirm this rumor or does someone have a Jeep that they love?

Not really if you think about it.They do run forever,my 83 is a daliy driver.They are vehicles to pass down 3 generations.

You can get a good used VW Toureg TDI on Ebay for that price range or even a little less if you look a while. You can even get a good used MD GL diesel for that price range as well.
