Default power..PoWeR... POWER

Hey peeps,

Have some questions, figured I'd ask the experts.

I have a 6.9 with an ATS non-wastegated and want more power out of it. Is there a different waste-gated turbo I can smack on there and make more boost? If so, what is considered street "safe".. like long-term "safe". And is an intercooler necessary or feasible?

I understand I am fairly limited but searching around has given me different answers so any help would be great

More pertinent info, my truck is stock besides the turbo and manufactured in 03/85 if that is necessary to know

Thanks a ton

the stock headbolts are your weak point. i would not put more than 10-12 psi to it.

as for a different turbo, any other turbo mounted to the ats uppipe will be custom and require fab to mount up.

Sorry for the slow reply, I've been slammed at work.

So is there any options as far as reinforcing the headbolts or replacing them?

arp makes haedstuds. but even with them i would not go much above 15 psi. plus anything over 12 psi is just heating the air more than wanted.
