Ok i finally got some guages, i got a glow shift 3 in 1. Boost EGT and Temp. I have a 5 spd manual so what should i do with the temp guage?

 

Oil temp or water temp...

Or you can still do tranny temp, would scare you to know how hot the manuals can get!

I'd do Oil Temp - the port on the HPOP reservoir (but only on an OBS) is 1/4" NPT, you can use an adapter bushing to put a temp sensor in that spot. If you tow a lot in hilly terrain it'll scare you to see how hot the oil gets! Presumably the oil spray on the underside of the pistons is what heats it up when you are running at very high cylinder temperatures.

 

I've got a snap on scanner, automatically tells me oil temp in Celsius. There might be a wire to tap into somewhere

 

did you get the 60mm single gauge or the pillar pod diesel combo they sell? 2 guys who i know have manual SDs and they went with fuel pressure
