Fellow bombers,

Looking at an 06 5.9 with 44k miles. Thing is its got an aftermarket turbo, exhaust, edge juice and intake...but zero trans mods. It's the auto transmission and I'm worried that the trans has simply seen too much to handle properly. Thoughts? What should I do?

Just get it built right and be done with it! Knock three grand off the price for the rebuild.

Is that about average cost for a beefed up auto trans? What about installation costs? How do I sell the fact that the price of the truck needs to be dropped because I basically don't want to throw the trans 2 miles down the road? He dropped the price from 33,339 to 31,339 before I even started looking at the truck, what number do you think I should shoot out there? This Guy does not know diesels, I just wish I knew what he paid for it...he's just a dealer who took it on trade. Thoughts?

I have not test drove it. So far its been just finding out info on it and looking at pics. I've been told the auto trans in these 06's aren't built for any mods and with the mods it already has, I'm worried damage has already been done. It doesn't even have gauges ...new Turbo no gauges?

Here's what it has...Aurora 3000 Turbo, banks Turbo back, ca intake , edge tuner with attitude control screen.

 

The edge screen is the gauges. Just make sure its wired in to read pyro,trans temp and what not. Not that the guy got lazy and just uses it to control levels. Good luck with it.
