Default questionable power

I am probably showing my lack of knowledge on the IDI engines but I was wondering if my truck is lacking power. It seems to me that it should be able to pull a 3k lb trailer and a 7k lb skid steer fairly easy..... There is no black smoke and the pyro in the downpipe was running just below 900 deg pulling hills with petal on floor and not very fast at all about 25 mph. It has new injectors. It is factory turbo charged and was running 9 lb of boost on the hills. The truck also has the 3 in exhaust housing and a 3 in downpipe and is straight piped. It also has a k&n air filter that is clean. Possible injection pump that needs rebuilt?

The pyro is located just behind the turbo in the downpipe if you want to know....

everything seems to be right with what u said by the gauges. pyro being in the DP will drop it by 300 or so. so at the manifold u are around 1200. which is all u want.

i am going to take a wild guess and say it is an automatic. thats where some of your power is going. also depends on your gears.

it is an automatic. it is also at the stock setting on the injection pump as of right now. Should I move the pyro to the manifold for better readings?

You will have more accurate readings there... Certainly increase your chance of preventing a meltdown...

Something definitely seems wrong if you were pedal to the metal and only going 25mph...

ill move the pyro then and see what the readings are. If there is a power loss here what would be the most likely culprit? Is there also any other ways that I could lower the EGTs if they are actually that high in order to run more fuel?

My 85 6.9 diesle will pull a skidder on a trailer 65 mph with no turbo. I think if your running 9 psi of boost your problem is in your tranny do you have a temp gauge on that?

Mi 94 idi factory turbo with hypermax air induction, clean K & N air filter... New fuel filter , recently within 2 yrs rebuilt E4OD Auto trans and no other mods.... Is showing same symptoms .. Lack of power. It has a rebuilt IP.. No smoke at all and no blinking limp mode light . What was the fix to your power problem ? I have EGT guage andboost guage but the most boost i get from the ol 7.3 is 5-6 lbs !
