hey all new to the ford diesel world ive had all chevy but switched to try out the ford diesel so far so good well i have a 88 7.3 na the glow plugs are working but i have to cycle them a couple times an pump the throttle sum to get her to fire so i was wondering if theres a way to put in a push button glow plug system i nw how to do it on 6.5 chevy is it the same way [ kinda funny have to use a ford cilanoid to have manual glow plugs on a chevy ]

are you sure all the plugs are good? the solid state system that you have is the best one available for the ford idi. when everything is right they work great and for a long time. i am going to guess u have a gp or 2 out.

 

wts light is on for like 5 sec then it goes to fast clicking an have to do this like 5 times an pump throttle

basicaly i want control of my glow plugs so wondering if someone nws how to wire up a push button control i nw how on a chevy is it the same way

 

the fast cliking tells me you have a plug or two burned out. test the plugs like i said. let me knwo if any are bad.

 

Look on youtube, there are how to videos for manual glow plug wiring, very simple, wire from solinoid to push button to ground.
