Default 2011 Dodge 2500

Hello to all. I'm new here and I have a couple of questions. I just purchased a 2011 2500 4X4 it now has 900 miles on it. I have a leveling kit on the front and I put 305/70R17 wrangler MTG/R on it. I love the truck but the thing is that I'm getting about 10.7 mpg. Is this normal? I have been lurking here for awhile and I have learned alot. I just placed an order with throughbreddiesel today, I bough an H&S XRT pro with the unlock code for the dpf and I got a dpf delete and down pipe. I also ordered an replacement K&N air filter. My questions are, did I get the right stuff? The customer service there was great, but I was under the impression that I needed to buy the over drive software for the tuner but the lady said that It was already in the tuner but I needed to order the "hot unlock code" instead. Also she said that a cai wouldnt make too much difference for my applications. she recomended just the replacement filter. I also asked her about the EGR/cooler delete, she said that the new xrt would just turn it off and that I dont have to take anything off. ie, no delete kit. So I guess what I'm asking is am I on the right track? Or have I been miss informed? Sorry for the long post!
Ryan

XRT Pro is fine but I would have got the Mini Maxx so you would also have Gauges. K&N filters are junk on Diesels. Get an AFE or S&B Intake. Get the whole intake kit not just the drop in filter (waste of money).

Here is the downloads for the XRT Pro

There isn't any "HOT UNLOCK".

So I got taken? What should I do, call back and talk to someone else?? I got the k&n because she said that there was not cai for the 2011's yet. Obviously I'm new to diesel's!

I wouldn't say you got taken. The only unlock on the XRT Pro is the Overdrive Software.

AFE and Airaid both make complete kits for the 2011 6.7 Cummins.

I dont think that I got the right code because I paid $100 for the unlock code and the overdrive is $300 i think??? Do you have any advice on the EGR/cooler delete. Is it ok to just let the xrt turn it off or do I need to take it off compleatly?

Ya the only unlock code is the Overdrive and its $299. Some guys just unplug the EGR and some do the delete. I would delete the EGR/Cooler.

Why? what is the benifit to deleting it as opposed to just turning it off?

sounds like diesel dawgs got u on the right track and so are you with the deletes but the reasoning of deleteing the egr is im pretty sure it will still let a little bit recirculate the best thing would be delete it and then nothing can get by just my thoughts the egr can cause some bad sooting problems

Is the mini maxx better than the xrt? why or why not? Im not going to race this thing, nor towe anything really heavy. I just want some more power and lots of mpg's. Money is kind of an issue, so which one will serve me best?

XRT Pro is fine but you will need a set of gauges. Atleast a Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge. You don't want to melt that $$$ Engine.
