I went to crank up the pump and set the timing as nevrenufhp has in his vids, thought I would install a pyro post turbo so I don't melt anything down. Did a test run before with 5 ton in the box up a big long hill, hit 950 on the pyro! I think that is the max temp? If I adjust timing to 19 degrees will that give more heat?

Thanks for the help Nevrenufhp, your vids are great. How can I tell what mark on the dampener are 19 degrees? Are they all numbered or just marks? Is there a way on counting the marks?
Thanks

If you look close, you might be able to see a 10 and 20* marker. Otherwise, find TDC, and count the hash marks backwards. Roll the engine in reverse from the alternator(only spins it in reverse if the belt is adjusted properly). From TDC, either count the hash marks individually, or measure off desired amount(each degree = roughly 1/8"). You just dont live close enuf to me, otherwise, I'd just do it for you.

I will try to find the 10 or 20 mark and go from there. If my turbo was down on boost because of poor adjustment on waste gate and I adjusted it for more boost would that increase exhaust temps or lower?
Thanks

Adjusting for more booost will cause too much drive pressure in the higher rpm, and end up with real high EGT. Stock setting is best. Dump more fuel in it for more booost. Come to think of it, the older ones didnt normally get a wastegated turbo. Not til roughly 1993.
