Default 6.4 Oil Leaks

Ok here is the scoop! I bought my 08 in May of 09 ( used of course ) smoked from day ( oh this is gonna take a minute please bear with me), one, I took it back ( extended warranty ) they said " it's a Diesel it's supposed to smoke " so I went on my way. A few other issue's EGR valve failure, loss of power ( fixed ), rear seal on drive shaft leak ( fixed ), tranny leak ( fixed ), now starting in November last year there started a leak under the engine ??, took it in they ( the dealership ) indicated " well we think it's the rear main seal, but we dont have time to fix it at this time our diesel mechanics are on vacation!" however it's a small enough leak you can bring it back" ( sorry this is getting to be long winded ) So I kept an eye on the oil level, dealt with the oil leaks on my new driveway, and took in, well after the first time, still leaking, second leaked worse then the first time ( actually pulled up to the service department and waited for about 5 minutes before I walked in, so my truck acted like a new born pup pissin on the floor leaving a nice big puddle ) I informed the service manager if you let the last tech who worked on truck, near my truck to fix this, not only will Ford hear from me the owner of your dealership will aswell. senior tech gets it, says fixes this problem ( oh forgot to mention each time they have my truck it's there for a full week ) get it home still leaking, take it back, I go into the shop so I can see what they are looing at, I point it out, " oh that is residual oil from the first time it leaked..... at which point I think to myself ( WHOHOO here is my opportunity to get a new DPF ) tech says well its gonna take a week at which point I say what else is new. well I have to do some diagnostics and get with Ford online ... Well today is officially the 5th week they have worked on my truck and guess what NEW DPF no more smoke, ( drink a little drink smoke a little smoke ) still the same no "REAL" power issue, but did notice improvement in fuel milage, they said ( about the leak ) we put your truck in the air on the lift and even had it " TILTED " down to drain the remnant oil. Well got it home looked underneath and guess what OIL LEAK!!!!! I was told that in the bell housing there are cavities that will store leaked oil and it is very very hard to get that oil out and when it is driven will cause it look like it has a leak, Just wondering if ANYONE has had this issue.......

Make sure you drain the water out of the diesel every month & change the two fuel filters every 15,000 miles, you don't want to V O I D your warranty

Funny thing the service writer just told me that today, I asked him should it be drained till it is empty ( last time I checked it, it smelled like diesel so i figured it was good ) what am i looking for here?

Do you know?

You drain it for about 30 seconds, just to get the water out, cause if FORD see rust, they'll know that you haven't been draining the water

Thanks for that tid bit, However I was looking at my engin today and when I opened the hood I smelled diesel, it looks as though there is a leak from the fuel return from the pre-heater, any experience this before?

Happy Memorial Day. Have a Safe Weekend.
