Default k&n filter good or bad???

I was wondering if anybody out there has heard any thing bad about k&n air filters?? The reason I ask is my dad talked too a guy that owns a reputable performance diesel shop in bend where my dad lives says they let alot of dirt in!! I put a k&n in my 2005 dodge diesel its a stock replacement!! does anyone have any experince with this??

Get rid of the K&N they are the worst filters to have on a diesel. The turbo pulls all the oil out of them and they let in alot of dirt and junk

I have the amsoil/injen intake on my 05. Looks nice and works well but not sure it's worth the pricetag. The afe seems to be a very popular brand. That's what I'd be lookiing at if I didn't have this one.

Any intake that uses dry filter technology is good. AFE, S&B ect.

The S&B's are nice filters as well as the afe's. And S&B is hard to beat for the price and its a enclosed airbox.
