Default Boost

Well just finished up my gauges the other night boost, fuel pres, and pyro. Trucks stock except for my exhaust an edge ez box. I've heard the stock boost for a auto was around 20. I was driving today an I can hit 28 psi easy. Anybody else get real high boost with stock setup?

I could hit 28-30 at WOT but few seconds after into it it'd go back down around 20Psi. Its the wastegate reacting to boost, its not instant so you will get little more boost at first hit of peddle.

Now I have a 62/65/12 and I have wastegate set at 35psi but see just under 40 on WOT runs.

Ok thanks. Wasn't sure if i was really getting that much boost because once it hit about 28 the gauge would flutter like crazy.

theres nothing wrong with the glow shift mechanical gauges. i have one in mine and also have a sunpro boost gauge and they are dead on with each other and are dead on with isspro and autometer they have been tested against them in my shop. the only gauges from glow shift that ive seen have issues with accuracy are their air-fuel ratio gauges. from what ive seen and tested they have the same quality as autometer for much less cost.

Glowshift is no where near the quality of Autometer or Isspro

I guess you got lucky.. had a friend with them in his truck hooked up my autometer next to his and they were off. they are better than nothing but the price is that good for a reason

Question Adrenalin Boost

I'm now running an Adrenalin iQuad on my truck, originally had the Banks Ottomind, and now my boost is going over 40 psi. I have seen it flash to 45 psi, as indicated on my iPhone, whereas with the Banks Ottomind and analog gauges the most boost pressure I saw was 36 - 38 psi.

I'm running the stock Holset HX35 which has a larger, 14cm2, housing as well as the larger Banks Big Head wastegate actuator.

I have the Quadzilla Adrenalin set to de-fuel at 42 psi Boost pressure and I get surging at WOT (wide-open-throttle) due to de-fueling.

Can anyone tell me why and how this can be, and is, happening??? I didn't think that adding the new Quadzilla would make my Holset HX35 boost over 40 psi. If the numbers are accurate then I now have to worry about blowing a head gasket and stretching head bolts.

I welcome any and all thoughts and comments.

Thanks

I had a basically stock 12v small mods on it such as fp and intake filter and i was able to hit 42psi with the stock turbo, but yeah i would do some tuning and get the boost psi down, or either get headstuds
