I was looking at getting a intake system the elbow and the filter system. What brand would you guys recomend for my year of truck? Thanks

 

I'm in the same boat. From what I can tell personally, and from doing a bit of research the S&B is the best intake. It's about 270 shipped lowest.

Take a look around, you can build you own for next to nothing.

1. Gut your stock tubes of the baffle, and put a BHAF on the end and rest the filter in the stock air filter box. BHAF is about $60 at NAPA.

2. Take out your stock airbox, at the bottom of the box cut out a hole big enough to install a dryer couplink, and install enough dryer hose to it to run down to the bottom of the truck. Install the stock box back, secure the end of the dryer hose at the bottom of the truck (facing forward), then take some screen and with a rubber band secure it at the end (keep the crap out).

There you have two easy and cheap cold air intakes.

 

I saw them on ebay.. I think Alligator diesel performance has them too for a good price.

 

Good info. Do a Google search for "PSM air box" or "Home Depot CAI" and you'll see tons of DIY projects to get more cooler air for cheap.

Also consider looking at the newer Mopar air filters as well.

I agree with MarineOne (Semper Fiddles brother) If you're not planing on going over 400 rwhp then keeping it stock and add a psm kit, use a wix 49946 filter. the home depot CAI will run you $20.00

I have a K&N intake system with an aFe ProDry5 filter. I didn't think it was going to do much but oh man I love it. It spools faster and less peaky and the butt dyno says I got some power (or at least a better power curve).

For me, I wanted a washible dry filter with a good system for a good deal. I had my heart set on an aFe Stage II with the ProDry but my gf bought me the K&N with the dry filter for my birthday!
