Default modded 1982 ford 300 6cyl with a 4bbl carb!!!

This is my 1982 Ford 300 6 Cyl. I added an Edelbrock 500 Performer carb, Offy C intake with water headed plate on the bottom, EFI Exhaust manifolds and EFI Spark plugs, I used a Walker Down pipe and gave it a full 2.5" exhaust. Runs amazing now! This is how it should have been made form the factory.

Never driven one with anything done to it but those are great engines. Tons of power on the bottom end and they run forever.

Mine didn't run forever it went bang, and the mpg's were as bad as a V-8

they were never known for the MPG's but were tow monsters.... too bad people tried to over rev them and make them turn RPM's that V-8's turned..... that is why the ones that failed failed...

My straight six treated me well, got good mileage and would tow just about anything. I always said the 300 inline 6 was just a like a diesel, really high tq to hp ratio (145hp and 265tq on my EFI), makes power at low rpm (max tq @2400rpm), and would last forever. 230k on the 300 when I took it out and running like brand new

yup, TQ for days it seems. The only issues I have is when pulling a big hill I have to have it amost WOT to hold 65ish MPH. I think that the 3.00 gears and the 31x10.5's show them selves on hils like that. Now I could down shift but I dont want to spin the crap out of the motor in 3rd gear.

I plan on 30x9.50 tires next time to combat this
