Default Straight Piping

I was just wondering why every 6.0 owner doesn't stright pipe their truck. The turbo is so loud. It has got to the the best sound in the world. I wish dodges could sound like that. Is there any down side to straight piping the 6.0

No

Its only loud if you romp on it WOT! I love the sound of the 6.0! My 7.3 will NEVER sound like a 6.0 does!

Here's a good vid for demonstration! From my buddy Stump on another board...

dang that turbo sounds so good. I was in myrtle beach SC a few months ago and it was something like mustang week or some crap like that. There was a 6.0 straight piped with 5" exhaust and you could hear the whistle from the beach. It was so loud just idleing. gosh it sounds so good.

your gonna lose power with 3.5 pipes, too much back pressure get 4inch duals

How is he going to loose power going from the factory system to dual 3.5" straights?

well if its straight-piped i don't think he would have a problem, he would if he put a muffler on it, but it doesn't flow as free as a 4 inch would.

you can have problem sputting a 4" downpipe on a 6.0 -- some have gotten them in with little to no problem, some have to beat the firewall in a little...

it comes from the factory with a muffler and 3.5 all the way back, so he's not gonna hve too much backpressure -- the backpressure comes from the turbo anyway...

plus it could have a high-flow muffler on it ...

and you are correct, a 4" will flow more freely
