Default cortisone shots

Doc wants to give them.
I know nothing about getting them.
Advice, experience or suggestions?

I've had some that were no big deal and two of them that I blacked out on. Knee's an elbows were no big deal for me the shoulders were bad news. The joint is deep and it took 3 separate needles, each one longer to get into the joint. Then I could feel the needle scraping through bone. End of my memory for both times.

I never got any relief from them myself but it's always the first thing they want to try.

Father-in-law got one for this arthritic knee about a month ago. Made a world of difference for him.

They are pretty hard on you. They do help alot. I've only had steroid shots in my neck for ruptured disk. The first ***** hurt a little but didn't feel a thing after that.

I've had one in my shoulder, made a world of difference.. what it does is eats the "goop" between the joints away and creates space and relive pressure from the joint. they can only do it so many times per spot until surgery is required. yes some people feel relief and some don't , so its kinda a craps shot but worth the chance Name: shoulder_anatomy_bones01.jpg

Hey reiser. That looks to be about the same spot they want to
shoot me up. I damaged something in there while closing a door
on a rail car. Been three weeks of light duties so far with no
improvement. Not a crippling injury. Just a pain. Literally.
