95 dodge 2500 bushing replacement
Ive just ordered new bushings for my rear leaf spring and shackle.I have never replaced any bushings on my truck before, and would like to know what the best way to do them is.Also, do i have to have them press fit?any imput is greatly appreciated.thanks
Taking them out is AWFUL... Usually they dont come out without lots of torching, pressing, and hammering
I believe aftermarket bushings are usually a two piece correct? They are normally cake to install

thanks for the reply matt.I have not recieved my bushings yet,so I havent done the job.A friend of mine says that I will have to press the new ones in place. The bushings I ordered are polyurethane from energy suspension and im not certain that they are two piece.Do they have to be pressed in a a one piece?
Good news, my bushings came today and they are 2 piece
Now I am getting ready to start,do you guys recommend removing the leaf spring itself?that would be a ton of work and I hate to do it if i dont have to,but if it is not possible without then i'll do it.

sorry for the time lapse in between my posts.do I need to drop the axle? How long does it usually take to replace the bushings?I dont have a good place to jack up the truck at my house, but at my school I have an hour long auto period.so its possible, but difficult to get things done. Will it work to do one side at a time?
Then I could knock it out in two days.
