A New Truck for me?
I'm starting a small auto hauling business. I've got a 5 car trailer and a 2 car trailer. I've done my research on these trucks and I've narrowed it down between an '11 3500 Silverado Duramax and an '11 F-350. I was however pondering a F-450. Would the 450 give me any edge over the duramax or 350?
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.
the 450 has some steering thing. maybe someone else can elaborate on that. 350 doesn't and 3500 probably doesnt. 450 has lower gears which will help depending on the weight your pulling. both great trucks.
From all the tests and articles Ive read the LML Dmax seems to be a better engine than the 6.7 PowerStroke, but honestly either truck will do whatever you need it to with ease.
I would also think the 450 would have bigger brakes (better stopping power) along with the lower gearing, probably stronger axles and frame also.

There was a huge write up in diesel power.. i think. THey tested em here in co, both had a trailer with a lot of weight on it. and the Chevy blew the ford out of the water. It was not even close. here read this!!

I'm more of a chevy guy anyways and thats what I was leaning toward getting. That article really helped. Now I'm not sure if I should just go with the Kodiak C4500. I know GM quit making them so I'd have to get used but that isn't a problem. Any thoughts on those?
I think I'm gonna go with the duramax. I was also thinking about putting a bully dog system in once I got it just to manage power out put and fuel economy better. Any thoughts on this system or any others?

Just make sure if you get a tuner that you can remove it without it leaving a foot print in case you have to take it to the dealer for work.
