Default 410's or 4.30's???

Right now I have a 1996 powerjoke, it was a truck that was switched around frame wise, what I was told when I bought it was the auto trucks have 4.30's and the stick trucks have 4.10's, I'm almost certian that the truck has 4.30's in it that's what I was told it had a rear end out of auto truck in it. Is this true or not??????????? Either way I'm looking for higher gears period going down the damn road tacking 2K at 55mph is not cutting it for fuel milage at ALL. Plus the higher gears should make it pull better going down the road? If someone knows where the correct rear end is OR 3.73 or 3.90's or have any relivent information on this let me know. I'm willing to trade someone rearends!

So are you saying that you could have any where from 4.10, 3.90, 3.73, 3.55. Or are you saying its either 410 or 3.55 and those are it no more choices it could be. Also my truck is a stick so if 4.10 to 3.55 are it then I know I need 3.55's seriously bad. Does anyone make aftermarket gear sets for them or does anyone know where I can get a rear? Thing is eating my pocket alive 10 miles to the gallon that's about it.

in that body style the only gears you could get are 3.55s or 4.10s. mine is a stick with 4.10s and i get about 15ish.

Eh, he is probably pretty close. He is running the same gears and transmission you are.

I have 4.10's and an auto transmission and I run about 1800ish rpms at 55.

Did I mention i average 15 in town and 18 on the highway...

I'm running something bigger than stock size because I got bigger on purpose next time I get some I'm going even taller. I can't figur?e why the factories didn't at least gear them to run 55 at 1750

Like I said, I'm pretty close to that... I know at 62mph I'm turning about 2000rpms.

You could always swap to 3.55's
