Default Cruise control problems

I have had my truck to the Ford dealer and a independent shop that works only on diesels, and nobody can figure out what is wrong with my cruise. It idles up and down when I set it,They say their is no vaccum leaks. And they are clueless. Any ideas?

Have you had the recall done on the cruise control from Ford?

I will have to check on that, I never had it done personally, but I will see if the previous owner had it done. Ill call Ford and have them run my VIN thanks.

Called the Ford dealer and they said nothing is open on the VIN so it must have been done according to them.

It works, it is idling up and down when it is on. Not a whole lot on the idle change but enough to make you feel like your lightly hitting the throttle and letting off. And it is non stop when the cruise is on.

Do the rpms jump when your at speed with the cruise on? or just at idle?

The only time is when the cruise is on, otherwise it idles fine.

Does it do it with the chip removed?

It did it before the chip was installed, then the ECM fried (2 weeks after the chip was installed) so it also has a new ECM. It's been in the shop 4 times total for the cruise problem.
