Default 2007.5 3500 Low Fuel Mileage?

I am trying to help my uncle out. He has an 07 with the 6.7 in it, and he is frustrated because he is only getting 14 to 15 MPG. His truck is stock. I have a 5.9 and don't know much about the 6.7 motor. I told him that maybe its all the emissions stuff they tack on causing restriction resulting in an MPG drop. But thats just a guess, so I thought I would drop the 6.7 experts a line. If you have any suggestions or have had this problem let me know. Thanks.

Thanks. Is there a way that he can modify his truck and make it easy to transition to pass emissions testing?

ya get rid of all the emission junk and get a tuner to run code free and on ebay the sell the delete pipe on ebay you can it slips right to gether 10 min job and then if you would like can run a cat back off the delete pipe for looks if you wanted the delete pipe on ebay is about 100 if i recall right and you might be able to get a system with a tuner and the delete pipe

ok got on ebay a smarty jr and the delete pipe 680 or 169 just for the pipe you might talk one of the guys on here who sell they might be able to get you a better price
