Default Front tires are angled inwards; buying new BJ's and u-j's

My tires look like this in the front

/----\

It's prettttty bad. So over the phone my mechanic told me he'd do upper/lower bj's and U-j's for 625$ out the door. Does this likely sound like the problem?

the truck makes all kinds of goofy noises. NOTHING when stopping/going, but when turning, hitting bumps, in 4x4 etc.

He's also gonna check the alignment.

Next up, is replacing the shocks

That's normal for a lifted 250 with IFS... Mine does that when I drive in reverse into a parking spot or something... An alignment wouldn't hurt but I don't think you need to do 700 dollars worth of ball joints... Not sure about noises... could just be shocks...

Is IFS even possible with a live axle??? .

But just sitting in the parking lot right now both of my tires look like the weight of the truck is about to cave in

It is an IFS set up, unless someone swaped a D-60 in there...

One of the worst set ups Ford ever came up with for a heavy duty truck...

Get an alinment first, see if that helps, and who ever does your alinment will or should tell you if anything needs replaced.

How does that work??? Because I can assure you there is a straight axle in the front of the truck... I thought IFS has half-shafts?

So you are telling me that my tires are all looking like they are about to fall off because of an alignment? Not saying your wrong, just confused...

If its a straight axle, somebody put a D-60 in there because all 250's are IFS...

Yes, on a IFS, it needs to be aligned properly or they will angle like that... If you have a D-60, you have another problem...

It's IFS like they said, unless someone did a straight axle swap. Take a picture of it. It's called the TTB setups, my rangers all had it. It's actually a strong setup, and a lot of desert racers use it, but they eat tires and balljoints. On a heavy duty truck I'd prefer a straight axle myself.

Here is a TTB (Twin Traction Beam) front end on a ranger... It looks the same on a F-250 but it has leaf springs rather then coils...

You can kinda see it in this picture of my old truck with a D-50 IFS in it...

Goodyear was gonna align it for me today; they feel confident it's just an alignment issue also. They said the BJ's look great and are tight. But they couldn't do the alignment today because my pass-side front shackle bolt was awol.... getting that done tomorrow.

It is a strong setup? Why is everybody downing it then? It seems like a pretty damn heavy duty setup; I've never seen an IFS setup like that either. It's pretty crazy but pretty cool.

TTB is definitly not as strong as a straight axle
