Default Safe to ride the governor on these?

On my NBS as well as my 12v, it was safe to ride the governor, with a load, from here to the moon and back, and the motor would be sound. Is it the same with my OBS? Because I put it in first and the rpms went into the orange-area.. while it seemed like the governor was working, I wasn't sure and backed off. Am I just worrying too much?

OBS is Old Body Style... I have no idea what NBS is...

There is no reason to hold the truck at those RPM's for any amount of time, your peak TQ is at about 2500RPM, drive it there if your looking for power, otherwise shift.

Well it's an auto, which = lamo for towing. I'm just saying; say I have a 15k lb load, going up a huge hill. I put it into say, 3rd gear with the pedal down, while riding the governor. Would the truck be able to handle it like the NBS trucks can?

I don't see any reason to redline the engine. Lock out overdrive and go
