When I had my 1st Silverado (2002 model), I tried Superchips Flashpaq and the Diablo Predator.
When I took a long highway trip, I noticed I gained a good bit of MPG with the Superchips than I normally would.
With the Diablo, you can do more and see more (charts, etc) on a laptop as you're going. I didn't pay attention to better MPG on this one because I was always messing with the other settings/modes.
Since you're just curious about better mileage, I'm going to keep this short. I really don't think it's worth the money.
People say the custom tunes are better BUT I don't have time to go back and forth to the person to change settings with it.
I guess driving easy is the best way, even though that's hard sometimes.

haha thanks! thats what i figured nut my grandpa was wanting some info. he drives to alabama and north carolina alot so maybe the superchips would be good for him. he said he is getting 19mpg and my little ranger dont even get that
Yeah it would be interesting, but would take more skill that it would be worth most likely.
IMO i would do a bully dog, super chips , or hypertech. all seem to do the same on a gasser to me. after that put a throttle body spacer on it. then a thermostat that opens at a cooler temperature. after that take off the big mechanical fan and put on an electric one. ive seen large fuel mpg gains off that set up. i hope this helps
