Hey I just got a Smarty so3 for my 98.5 and it worked the first time, but when I tried to go back to stock I got the COMM TIME OUT ERROR. I can recover it back to stock, but I can't program it anymore to the higher settings. The place I bought it from has a 30 day money back guarantee if you don't like it, no matter what. Thank full that is a good thing. They have tried to help me out, but nothing is working. I've read that other people have had this problem with the smarty and not just on this year truck, but mostly. Any know how this problem might be solved. I will most likely just send it back and stick to chips that don't program the ECM.

I know this is an old thread but I'm having the exact same problem on my 99. Of course it's a 3-day weekend and MADS Tech is closed. What did you do to resolve the issue?
