my friend is looking for the newer tow mirrors off of the 3rd gen dodges and is puting them on a 97 who makes them and were can i get them that will fit on his truck or will the ones off the new dodges bolt on

they wont bolt on, the plastic "triangle" is WAY to big, we tried to do it on my buddies 97 when we put tow mirrors on another friends 03......

 

i have seen a few older dodges with them on so i know it can be done but was not shure if they bolted on or some company makes them.

 

i am sure the factory ones wont, there might be a company that makes them, you could shave the newer ones down.......

In order for the 03+ mirrors to work on a 02 or older trucks you have to swap the bases (triangle part). The only benefit to this is to get the power/heated functions. Requires 2 sets of mirrors; 03+ power/heated set and 02 non power set.

You can order a set of non power mirrors from DC that bolt right upto the 2nd gen's, just order em for an 02 dodge 3/4 or 1 ton. These are what I have on my truck currently, I do plan to upgrade to the power/heated versions once I can find a drivers side mirror for cheap.

I think they run $250 a set for the non powered ones......been awhile since I priced a set so that might have changed. The power/heated set were around $320.

01 and 02 had the tow mirrors that will be a bolt on your friends 97 BUT they are NON power NON heat..... In order to have power/heat tow mirrors you'll need the 2nd gen and 3rd gen mirrors then do the swap of the heads.
