I'd go smaller and simpler. I felt the same way, a year later glad I didn't go all out the first time around. Whatever it is get it inward and downward from shoulders.

I was always told with potential tatoo designs, to have it drawn up onto a piece of paper, and hang it somewhere that you have to look at it eveyday, and if your still cool with it after a month then you will be okay with it on your body. Still havn't got one myself, been told I would have to start paying rent if I got one But I have had my pic hanging for 6+months now, and I still want it

Here's my take on this.
Just about every tattoo I thought I wanted
when I was your age? I'm glad I don't have now.
I'm not preaching. Just sharing. Do your thing.

You don't "NEED" a tattoo, you WANT a tattoo. Not to worry, in your later years you can have it laser removed.

Choose wisely that's all.
So when you are 50 and someone points and asks, hey what's that?
You won't have to answer "ah it's just some **** I got when I was younger".
Which is what 1/2 the guys at work answer when you ask 'em.

I have 3 tattoos, all of them I had done after I turned 30.

One is on my back, it is a nautical star, shaded red and black with both of my daughters names in it.

One is a gecko, it is on my right shoulder going down my right arm. I got this because when growing up I loved catching geckos and it was something that my dad and I did together. He is gone, so it sort of symbolizes something between me and my dad.

One is a tribal/flame band on my arm, it was to symbolize a commitment that I made to my sister when she was going through a rewarding time in her life.

My daughter got her step brothers name on her foot on her 18th birthday, it was not my cup of tea. But she does not see him and he is a younger brother.

So, if you are going to get a tattoo, get something that means something to you and will when you are 60. When you are 60 will Cummins even be around? Will you remember that truck. Again, I think tattoos are fine, but like others have mentioned choose it wisely, it is not something that you can just erase, some cannot be covered very well.

make sure it means something. i dont have any yet but theres a couple im gunna get...also consider location. in my case i wanna be a cop so i have to be able to cover everything so if i get anything on my arms that shows at any point i have to wear long sleeves (in 100 degree texas heat).
