what are the best tunes you guys have ran in your truck? my friend tinkered on mine a little and now i have 13 stages. are stock tunes better with bolt on performance? opinions on comp tunes?

 

Make your own.. Its the same thing as downloading them but takes half the time.. And you can custom tune it to your truck. I'm not sure what you meen by bolt on performance?? You meen turbos, injectors, etc..??

 

yeah i guess i meant mechanical performance not electronic

 

Yah, injectors will wake up the truck big time!! A quad is about all you need for electronic performance unless you wanna get a bd noise isolater or bd top speed eliminator. After that injectors and turbo and supporting mods. And do the trans first... Then the rest is downhill!! And ALWAYS ask before you buy... I let a vendor on another site talk me into buying something and I didn't ask anyone else about it... yah.. I got screwed without a kiss goodnight!! and the part was over a grand!!

 

dam well i know i want a bigger turbo possibly twins and bigger injectors but i'm scared about my tranny. i'm debating on selling it to get a truck with a 6 speed but she barely has 106k miles

 

You can do what you want man........ I will never trade my built auto for a 6 speed. They can break just as easy as an auto. My buddy just lost 5th and 6th gear in his 6 speed. I've also heard 6 speeds are more expensive to rebuild than an auto. I'd say build the auto and forget about it!! A well built auto will last a long time if you take care of it!! 2500 bucks will get you a trans gaurenteed to over 500hp. Kingbrad on here has one and its holding a super b special and lukes 150's just fine.

 

my tranny has been holding up great with my setup.

 

Some have good luck with them... I didn't.. Owell lesson learned!
