Better?

It depends on what you will do with the truck.
There are no pictures of the compressor wheel in the ad for the 1.0 A/R turbine turbocharger.

However, the compressor wheel in the .84 A/R housing is what you want. The drawback to the smaller turbine housing on that turbo is that you WILL feel a huge DECREASE in power at high RPM. It is far too restrictive to flow well at high RPM and will cost you power and will cause higher EGT. If you have an intercooler, it would work ok for spool-up times, but would still feel constipated at high RPM.

I would recommend going with the 1.0 housing turbocharger if you must.

I did this .84 upgrade over 15k miles ago and all summer pulling my 30ft camp trailer I never once saw egt's over 1350*. I used to hit 1500* daily with the 1.15. And the hills in Utah are 8% and steeper.

is there any difference in mileage between them? i plan on buying a down pipe this week since it would be easier with the turbo out.

130mph... Really??? Because I call bullshit on that one.

The problem with the .84 housing is its too small, your drive pressures would be in the 70-80psi range...

I tore the turbo out of a 97 last week and replaced it due to a .84 A/R turbine housing. The insane drive pressure caused the thrust bushing and sleeve to disintegrate and ruin the compressor wheel and housing. Super Duty turbos suffer the same fate due to the smaller turbine housing.

Stock tires with 4.10 gears would put the RPM at about 4200. Not happening.

3.55 gears would be 3571 RPM. Feasible, but likely not enough power on stock sticks to overcome wind resistance.

Unless the speedo was off due to diff sized tires and not correcting the speedometer, greater the speed the greater it's off

So it may of said 130, but I say bs, not that he's trying to lie
