Default new turbo higher egts

Hey guys I just got my turbo and manifold installed last week and my egts driving down the highway at 60 are at like 800-900 degrees with the edge off and I barely have to put any throttle to it and I can hit 1000-1100 it seems like this turbo runs just as hot as my HX what could be going on here?

You will notice that this upgraded turbo will like high rpms compared to your old HX35, try getting the RPMs up to about 2300-2500 rpm (if your being easy on it) between shifts, 1100 degrees isnt bad, wait till your doing about 75 then punch it.. hang on!!

you may not have enough fuel for your turbo yet and with the 14cm exhaust housing it's going to be laggy and warm

You could use a little more fuel to spool that turbo efficiently. Also its going to be laggy and hot because of that 74 wheel with an automatic. You'd be better off with a 62/68 or 62/71 and those 150's with the auto

I plan to go to a 250 horse injector hopefully soon. You guys think those will work better for my set up?

Absolutely. You should be able to spool that turbo a lot better. If you wait till you hit 10psi of boost it will light faster and keep your egts in check versus just flat footing it from a dead stop. Who's injectors are you going with?? That also makes a little difference also.

Yah that thing should move!! Might be a little too much fuel for that 64 tho. I know Jamie lent laid down 611hp with a super b special and ddp 200's. Just know that your truck with ddp250's is going to block out the sun until it lites!!! haha Going to be hard to drive without smoking out the neighborhood!! But its all in what you want man!! Have fun!!

I'm in the same situation man. I highway drive a good bit and I see about the same egts as you on highway. The problem is that cruising 65 mph, that turbo is just not spooled. Its actually flowin less air at that point than your stock hx. That is until you get on it. Have you towed with it yet? It's a disaster trust me.. My fix is going to be compounds from bd. It's full proof, that'll cool it down. I want my truck to spool like stock but still kick me in the a** at WOT. Good luck bud!
