Default help with buying a truck out of state?

well guys i bought my truck in AZ, and i live in ILL.the truck was delivered on Dec. 5th 2010. I still have not seen the title and neither has my bank but the dealership said they were sending it to me first since i need it to transfer to ILL.has any of you guys done this? and/or about how long did it take? im driving myself crazy trying to do this from germany but the temp tag they gave me runs out in feb...and if i still dont have the title then what do i do? thanks alot guys

I'd tell them that the truck will be returned if you do not receive the title within a certain amount of time. On your contract was tax tag and title fees, i'd consider the contract null if i did not receive everything i paid for. They won't want it back and will get to work on it. If they don't or didn't have a title in thier name the sell may be illeagal and they would be responsible.

Either way from Germany it is going to be a pain in the ***, Most states have extensions you can get for taggs while waiting on title, if the dealer lost the title and has to file for lost title it could take a very long time.

Every vehicle i have bought has been registed in a state other than purchase as i am in the military as well. It is always a pain in the A@@, because some title clerk at the dealer who thinks they know everything about titling gets axle wrapped when a state does something diffrent than they are used to.

Call the Secretary Of States Police office here in Springfield, they'll get it straitened out for you. Auto sales issue is one of there main jobs.

hey thanks alot guys! well this is what i did...my mom knows the state general attorney, so i called them and said if i dont have an answer by monday then ill have the GA in it...needless to say i got a call yesterday saying it was being overnighted and should have it by weds., so thanks alot guys for the info, it def helps me out
