Default bad deal? need input

not sure if this is the right place for this so if not im sorry and please move for me thanks!
first off as of right now i don't wish to post who this is about so please don't ask
i made a deal to trade my 5 speed for an auto and all related pieces parts. i know dumb
so i pull my trans, all interior pieces, all bolts, clutch flywheel, front driveline, and everything i found said the rear driveline will work so we didn't worry about those. shipped them accordingly. all the while my wife is at this time about 7.5 months pregnant, plenty of time for it. wait and get the stuf, there was some shipping hassles because they wouldn't ship mine and forgot to let me know about it because it was leaking oil. they cut a deal though. got that straightened out. got the auto. went to put all interior together and shifter was broken off, he informed me about it, not too big of deal, the plastic on the column was also broken because the trans shifted in transit, again no big deal. installed everything and as i was putting in a new filter, i noticed the case was cracked from the bellhousing to the valvebody area, so i guess i will just use it as mockup and lesson learned. got everything ready and found that yolk was different from auto to manual. informed the other person and he wanted to pull them and ship them to each other. i also needed the kickdown anyways so no big deal i pulled mine, at this time the wife is aprx 8 months pregnant, getting a little ansy now. ship mine and he stated several times that his was. now here it is 2.5 weeks later and i still havent seen them or heard of them. my friend is a lawyer and where i have saved every pm and text about all the deal he wants me to go after him for everything, what do you guys think i should do? i don't realy want to be mean to him but where my wife is now about 8.5 months pregnant i dunno
ps. the bellhousing bolts were missing when he got my trans so he had to spend $80 on those i have no idea where they went.
sorry for such a long post

You do what you feel needs to be done. Keep your documentation. do not tell him what your plans are, till he totaly puts his hands up and says he cannot help you, and this is your problem. So keep working with him do give him a chance to help, till things get sour.

i've given him several chances, last wednesday i informed him that i haven't seen it and he told me he will ship it again, then when it wasn't here monday i talked to him again, got a little pissy and told me he will ship it on tuesday, i asked for a tracking number for good faith and now he will not respond to me at all! like i said i have a wife thats very pregnant now and cannot leave her home alone without a car any longer.

Like I said do what you feel is right. Have your attorney send a letter of intent and see if that changes his tune. It usually works, unless he is arrogant and can afford a good lawyer.

yeah that sounds like a good idea from rustin because some people really do need some type of look here sob motivation before they kick it into gear, and the situation your in with your wife i'd be doing everything in my power if it was me to get that stuff.. but good luck to you hope it all works out
