Default f150 made into a f350???

I am wanting to know if I can take F350 suspension and 7.3l and bolt them onto an f150 frame? Ofcourse they would be of similar years, I like the 94-97 trucks. If anyone has any knowledge on this please throw me a bone.

why would you want to do this? you would have to make all new brackets on the front end to run leaf springs instead of the coils. on the rear end i believe the 150's have a 2 1/2" wide spring and 250& 350's have a 3" wide spring. so put different shackles and perches on. then the wiring for the engine. i think it would be more of a headache and PIA then it's worth.

not a good idea, youd still have a weak frame.

Thanks for the info. I live in Alaska and the availability of nice 350 bodies is slim pickens, there are more 150's to choose from. I just wanted to know how viable an options that may have been but it sounds like it would be more work than it's worth.

The FRAME on an F-150 isn't going to handle the weight of the 7.3 & the diesel tranny

will not work suspension wise. the front of the f150's have a crush zone right behind the bumper as the f250-f350 do not. that is where the front shackle hanger mounts.

many guys over on another diesel site have put the old 6.9/7.3 idi engines in f150's and broncos's. no issue with suspension or frames. most of them put a 1 ton rear in and convert the d44 front axle to 8 lug using chevy parts.

You could install a F150 body on a F-350 frame if its just the bodys that get hammered...

So long as you are talking OBS, the cabs and bed were the same...
