Default Blinker/Electrical Help Needed

I got an '06 Cummins and when I put the blinker to make the signal to turn left, most of the time, the signal will turn the right side on instead. Other times, it won't even turn on either sides and it will get stuck blinking other times.
Yesterday, I put the truck in reverse, hit the accelerator a little to go, the horn goes off like it has an alarm. There's no alarm on the truck- it's a base model. I put it in park because it wouldn't stop blowing the horn, then it quit. Tried two more times, same thing happen but the blinker when on too, when I went to backup. That hasn't happened since then though.

I bet so many people have gotten mad at me because they think I don't put the blinker on, but I TRY!

The Dodge place said it could be the spring which is 87 dollars or it could be another part which is 90-something dollars. My dad said he was gonna take it apart and look to see what's broken or if there's a short but it's just more and more problems with this truck as time goes.

IDK about the blinkers but was your door open when you were trying to back up and the horn started honking?

Nope, they were closed. No one has heard of such a thing happening that I know of yet.
I hope it's something minor because it looks like I already have transmission problems coming the way it sometimes doesn't shift, while I'm dealing with my 16 MPG driving it easy as diesel goes up.

I'm not sure- the guy just said the spring in the steering column. Didn't check for codes. Yeah, we're considering a short but I'm going to wait to do anything until my dad looks at it.
I just found a website where a bunch of people have similar problems, not the horn when backing up problem, but the trying to make it signal left turn but it goes right side instead. They say it's the multifunction switch for about $75.

I had both my '06 and '08 in for the blinker problem a few months ago. The switch inside the steering column went south, so they were both replaced under warranty.

As for the horn thing, check the door open switch (round switch that pushes in near the bottom of the door). Its part of the "safety" Dodge had to do when someone ran over themselves while backing up with the door open. Anytime the vehicle goes into reverse and it thinks the drivers door is open, the horn does off like its crazy until you put it in park.

Yeah, the dealership was nice enough to ask me if I wanted that "safety" recall done... Needless to say I can back up with the door open in peace!

Oh, ok. Makes since. So I guess it didn't push all the way in for whatever reason.

I'm going to get that multifunction switch soon.
Thanks for the help!
