96 F250 Cummins swap research questions
Hey guys, just want to ask some preliminary questions. I am in the research stage of my 12 valve Cummins swap and want to hear from the guys who have kept their E4OD's/4R100's in their trucks. I want to keep my auto so my questions are:
What kind of tranny controller do you have and how did you set up the shifting strategy for it? I have a Baumann TCS http://www.baumannengineering.com/tcs2.gif in my truck now because I converted to mass air in the past. I used a pre loaded program in it for a 460 with a E4OD. It shifts okay but has a hard 1-2 shift. I really didn't change the program because I have never done anything like that before. I'd like to see if someone can give me some advice or insight in how to program the tranny shift points. It doesn't matter what you have, I'd like to hear what you have to say. I know about the PCS controller http://www.powertraincontrolsolution...000big.jpg,and the Compushift http://www.dreviltransmissions.com/images/comp_kit.jpg Scott from Destroked recommends the PCS unit. He also said that the Baumann unit is a very basic one. I posted to his forum on his site awhile ago and it was cleared last time I checked. If anyone has any experience with it, please post. I know I am in for spending some $$$ because I know I need: adapter plate, hybrid flex plate, new TC, and new valve body.
Another question, what radiator and intercooler did you use when you did your swap? I know you can use either Ford radiators/IC's or the Dodges. I'd like to hear what you used, what you think and why.
This is probably not my last post here in this section, so I'd appreciate any help I can get and please bear with me. Thanks guys.
I'd like to know if anyone has used the Baumann controller with any success or any problems with a Cummins swap in a Ford. Thank you.

If there is anyone out there who has a Ford truck that they have swapped in a Cummins and kept the E4OD/4R100, please let me know. I just want to know what controller you used and how you liked it as well as how hard/easy it was to program it. I would like you Ford guys to let me know what you used and what happened. Thanks.
