Shifting Gears And Building PowerBorgWarner Automotive is the descendant ofan American institution that was one of the early pioneers in both the American and global automotive markets. The current company has survived massive market changes, and the breakup of its historic and profitable automotive brands. Sadly, many of us only vaguely recognize the brand as a sponsor of the famous Indianapolis 500 trophy, which is presented annually on race day each May. Though the current version of BorgWarner has been successful since its beginnings in 1993, the brand deserves a much closer historical overview.
