I was just wondering what are the mods needed to get to these numbers. From what i've heard i'm going to need injectors, cp3, efi live, lift pump, possibly turbo, and then the tranny to hold it. Just wanting to make sure i got the formula right.

 

actually there are a lot of duramax's making over 500hp with the stock injectors. the tranny should be your priority before getting to wild. with the tranny, lift pump, race valve, exhaust, and efi 500hp will be no problem at all. you could do the tranny last, but i bet it want last long being pushed above the limits.

 

Bud of mine made 545 1147 with just tuning a good tranny and intake and exhaust...

Im running 550+ with stock turbo stock cp3 stock injectors. I have ADII 165, PPE stage 5 tranny, and EFI Live tune by Rob

 

what's your PW at? 3400? must smoke like a coal train when pushing that that HP

still impressive though

 

Old thread but I bet it doesn't smoke much. I've tuned plenty of stock trucks that are around 550 hp that are clean.
