Default I need new auto insurance.

I just found out my insurance has gone up AGAIN! I have a clean record. Last ticket was over 10yrs ago and my last claim was over 5yrs ago. That claim was because the dude that hit me gave false info and my insurance picked up the tab on my ride.

Anyway, I'm paying $1600 a year now and that's full coverage on my 07 Dodge and bare bones coverage on my 97 F-250 and 94 Grand Cherokee. All 4X4, all white in color (no red for this dude). Seems kind of high for a clean record and someone over 30 IMO.

My question is this: who has shopped around lately and what companies are worth checking out? (like which ones are actually there when you need them) Any HELPFUL info is welcome.

I've heard American Family is decent but I was surprised when I went online and got a quote from them.

I'm 19 and I have no tickets, no record, nothing. Just because I'm 19 they want $1300 every 6 months for just me and my 85 F250 for the lowest, cheapest insurance.

I had the same problem, i went to the general insurance company. Surprisingly, my insurance went from 1300 a year, to like 900. And i by no means have anywhere near a clean record.

TRY MERCURY & ALL-STATE, they have the best price on insurance

It's like health insurance. Buying it as an individual is a sure way to get reamed. If you're part of a group the price is much more realistic.

Only nobody buys personal automobile insurance as part of a group... If twenty or fifty of us got together and collectively bargained we could probably cut the price of insurance in half.

Yea, you're just going to have to shop around. There're some risk factors that some companies weigh differently such as location, miles/purpose driven, age, marital status, vehicle type, uninsured motorists, theft stats, etc.

I realize this, I guess I'm just pissed cause I've been in the same location, trucks are the same, same situation across the board and yet they feel the need to go from 1200 to 1600 within 2yrs.....that isn't right. I'm going to meet with the local agent/farmer here in town and see what he can do for me I guess.
