Default 6.0 with an sct for test drive.

Got a friend with a 6.0 looking at an sct. I'm wanting to know if there is someone around Austin, tx that may either let him try an sct on his ride or can take him on a nice ride in there's. I just don't know many people bombing 6.0s around my parts. Thanks

Is telling him "a custom tuned SCT is the only way to go on a 6.0l" not enough?

No sir it's not. I don't blame him for wanting to try something before you buy. I've shown him threads and info online etc. He's just not believing the hype.

You're not going to find anyone dumb enough (I hope not anyways) to let you use their SCT, since that will waste 2 of their unlocks, 1 to unlock their own so you can use it, then another unlocking it off of your buddies truck to go back to the original owner. They only have 5 unlocks and then they need to be sent back to SCT and it's like $150 or something to get more unlocks. Plus the chances of the two trucks having the same strategies is probably not going to happen.

What does he need to be convinced of? If it's better than stock? Or is he going to buy something else?

Didn't relize the scts where locked like that. I seen one somewhere just the tuner used for less than 300$. Will people still write software for them if they are bought used? He currently has a banks on his and it's not bad. My friends 6.0 is the same with a dr.p and a 4 inch ex and it can outrun the banks. He basically is wanting to know without a doubt it will be better than what he's got now. Atleast the banks stuff came with the pickup when he bought it. As stated above it's just kinda hard around me to find people with a pickup like his with that tuner on it.

I'm with y'all. Bite the bullet and try it. That's kinda the name of the game with performance I think. Sometimes it's good to follow the rest of the herd on some of the parts.
