im currently down at college, so im livin at a apartment and with winter comin up i have no way to plug in my truck. what all can i do to help my truck make it through the winter? because now just with fall weather settin in it sometimes has troubles startin up in the morning?

Make sure your glow plugs are up to snuff?

5W40 motor oil
My starting sequence: Hit the starter without waiting for glowplugs - one or two revolutions. Now cycle the glow plugs twice to heat the chamber AND the small amount of fuel previously injected.

 

also check your glow plug relay. it's a two person job. have one person under the hood with a test light. and another inside turning the ignition on.

 

you cant run a cord throught a window?

 

In college a few ford guys used generators.

Only use either if all the glow plugs are disabled or you blow your engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have a manual transmission park so a friend with a cummins can pull start your stroker

 

nah, if you're safe about it you can start it with the glow plugs enabled, I have to do it all the time, just spray a little on the air filter and wait for the check engine light to go off then it fires right up, and if you have to spray it while someone is cranking makes sure to have something to block all air flow to the engine like cardboard for example, and if you're not running synthetic oil probably should consider it

 

sounds like twinboys starting sequence is down to a science. sounds good to me.
