i have a 2005 chevy 1500 crewcab shortbed and i want to put a 5.9 cummins in it but ive never heard of that being done in a newer chevy before so i just wanna know if it can even happen

 

anything is possible, 1/2 ton A-arm front end would most likely have to go. If you really want to use that truck then dont settle for less or you,ll never be happy with it. my truck started out a 1-ton solid axle ( that motor weighs 1100 lbs)( ibelieve)so the undercariage was easy. good luck.

 

That front end is pretty lightweight.I would be hard pressed to put one in a half,not to say it can't be done but.....
