Seen it done other sites.....why not do it here. This way folks can look up another member and ask for some help with usage or just to locate someone with VAG-COM. I, myself, am still learing about it....so i really dont know what to get just yet...plus i would like to mess with one before i felt the need to get the software.

 

Whats VAG-COM ?

 

From my limited knowledge, its like a FULL diagnosis tool that you load onto a laptop that you can basically control, adjust, and view all functions of the ECM in real time. All cars associated with VW (Like Audi, Lambo's and such) use this software. Very cool really. AND almost essential if you are going to work on the car yourself.

For instance, you need to reset your timing after you do a timing belt. VAG-COM will let you do that. Bigger injectors, you need to adjust your idle quantity being injected, and EGR function. This tool seems to do a lot! WISH THEY HAD THIS FOR THE CUMMINS!!!!!!!

VAG-COM sounds more like a home women's digital yeast infection test kit.... no offense to whomever offers/sells this service... just first thing that came to my mind.

Sad thing is, a VAG-COM works better then the VW diagnostic stuff supplied to us. 2 of my techs use VAG over the VW 5052 tool we have. It gives us lot more tools and info to use.
