Default 97 Automatic, Converter Lock-Up Switch

I've looked and looked with no luck. I've seen diagrams for 94-95, and supposedly 96 and up. My 97 does not have a trans relay in the black magic box behind the battery. How can I add a manual lock-up switch to this truck?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

here is some info from Tony Garcin from dunright converters

Lock Up Complaint: Issue 52, page 39, offered an in-depth look at torque converter lock-up. Although the author was specifically talking about the '98.5 and newer trucks, this tip applies to torque converter lock-up on Turbo Diesels '94 and later. As documented, many people have replaced the TPS or APPS, transmission temperature sensor and numerous other parts trying to correct the ongoing converter clutch problem with varying degrees of success.
Well, for all of the shadetree mechanics in Turbo Diesel land, before replacing any parts or wasting time connecting a scan tool or voltmeter to the electrical circuit, start with the easiest step first.
I have found the cause of the lock-unlock problem to be a frequency-induced electrical noise into the ground circuit of the battery which causes a fluctuating voltage signal from the TPS to the PCM.
The Solution: Locate the 10-gauge ground wire that runs from the negative post of the passenger battery to the back of the alternator. This wire is often tan with a black stripe.
Starting at the back of the alternator loom where the tan/black striped wire heads for the battery, wrap the wire with a piece of tin foil about 4" - 6" in length. Wrap the tin foil with black electrical tape to secure it in place.
Road test the vehicle. If the problem is corrected, smile.

I appreciate the insight, but I don't have a problem with the converter, I just want to be able to manually lock or in-lock it.

thats how i did mine and it works great but i took, the jumper wire out and put the relay back in and the transmission wouldn't shift right is that because the wire is still grounded?
i just pulled over and took the relay out and put the jumper back in, and with it in it shifts fine and i can lock my torque converter in any gear but 1st. its fun.

Default Pictures of my Power Distribution center

Looks like I'M geting closer. The picts with of the connection at the trans will be helpful. Both write-ups however note a trans relay or solenoid. I don't have a clue as to where my relay to jumper wire is. I have seen this diagram in many differnet forums and actually spoke to a tech fella at TST and told him my PDC did not have a trans relay. This stumped him as he said he had never seen what I was explaining. At any rate here are some picts. of my PDC and the info panel cover. What am I missing???

I hate to ask the obvious but are you sure it is a 97 PDC? Could there have been a conversion? I have a 97 and my PDC looks quite a bit different. Here is a pic of the cover, I can get the PDC itself if that would help you.

Default PDC

They look similar but it appears you are missing some, or your PDC is smaller. Do you have a towing package? A/C? I wonder if the difference is options, but you would think the PDC would be the same and then some stuff just wouldn't be wired. I think it would be cheaper that way.

Here is a pic of my PDC. Sorry I don't have answers, but I do have examples.
