It does not have the super 40 wheel with a 14cm wg housing, but it is a mild upgrade for a under 350HP truck or less. Its good for stock replacement, but I would not call it a performance turbo. For twins its not a bad option as it will work for a cheap top turbo and in twins the turbos don't work as hard. Holset is better but its near the price of a used hx35 on ebay that would be of questionable quality.

I sell them as a "generic turbo" on my website. pretty close to a bolt on,

you will need a boost elbow (if you want more than 20psi),
you will need to drill/tap the compressor housing
has the v-band on the turbine housing.

If you have a 1994-2002, you will need to change the back plate on the turbine housing (5 bolts) from your old turbo.

I can update the genaric turbo so that it would have a super 40 right? or is that pointless.

pointless. If you are going to do much more than stock ump up to an s300 like a superB

otherwise you have turbo at $330 + close to $100 for a wheel + labor for re-balancing and possible machining the compressor cover you will be at about $700 so it would be better to go with a dodgezilla at that point, but the superB is much better.

like i said, its a get what ya pay for, 3 of my buddies are running the generic hx40s, they see about 35/40lbs of boost, which in my opinion is kinda alot for them cheap turbos, but they havent had any issues yet, and they sound awesome. id look for the direct bolt up one tho. not the ones than are t4 and such, like i said if you can look a guy sells a 60mm version with t3 bolt and such. thats what my buddies run. the 351vgt would be sweet, but money and time spent into it. and to makew sure it works right, i would just buy a 62/65/12 s300 charger.

if you have 370's go bigger than the generic turbo.

think of the hx40 generic/chinese as a option for stock replacement... maybe a few HP more.
