Default Who's Yhe Math Whiz?

Hey I need to figure square footage of a dome's surface area. The dome is 58' tall to the center of the dome and 112' in diameter at the base. Anyone know the formula to figure this I tried to get a hold of my daughter who is a math whiz but she must have classes today and I haven't heard from her. It's kind of embarrassing having to ask your kids things like this so if someone can help me I can tell her I was just calling to see how every thing is going

Howdy Jazz,
Formula for Square footage of a dome is 2 x pi x r x r

So in your case it would be 2 x 3.1415 x 56 x 56

Resulting in 19,703.488 square feet.

Maybe I'm just having a brain fart here but a perfect sphere would be height is equal to radius correct? so since this isn't a perfect sphere because height is 58' and radius is only 56' that wouldn't be a correct square footage , would it?
Thanks for your reply Buddy. Long time no talk. Maybe this next weekend you should try to slip on over to my place at the lake Do a little fishin and a little

It would actually be 2 x pi x Radius(at the ground) x Height of the dome.

2 x 3.14 x 58 x 56 = 20407.786 sq. ft.

MMMMMMM Pie.....

Ok, so that will give my sq. ft. I wasn't sure if 2 x pi x r x ht. will give me the correct sq. footage. I do know that 2 x pi x r x r would if it was a perfect sphere. Thanks

How many yards of concrete will it take to fill a Big Cone 50 Foot Tall with a 10 foot opening that's 1/3 full of rocks?

That was a real question on my entry test at work
