Default TH400HD Inspection Cover and Support Rods

Just getting my truck out of the shop, and was told to get an inspection cover and support rods for the trans....

the local summit has them (thats fun to say)

main question, is it really required and does it make it THAT much stronger or reliable sure it will be towing and lightly offroading

It cost GM a ton of money to put them covers and supports on them so I would say you need them.
