Been around for a little while. I was actually thinking about putting my Isuzu 4BD1-T into one because of how awesome that is. But I decided I wanted a light duty diesel truck a lot more!

Ive been wanting to swap a 4bt into a classic truck for a while, but cant seem to find any even remotely affordable transmission options... What are most of these swaps using?

Last I heard, the handiest and most economical strategy was to score an old Frito's delivery van, or similar bread truck, which would have been equipped with a 4BT and one of GM's turbo 400 trannies. pull/install engine/tranny as a mated unit, and then sell the remainder of the van to an aluminum recycling place.
