Default 14.5" Wide Tire On A 10" Wide Wheel?

I'm looking at buying new tires and was wondering if I can run a 14.5" wide tire on a 10" wide rim? The site I was looking at for the tires suggested a 12" wide rim for the 14.5" wide wheel. So do u think I can get away with it?

i think you'll be fine. typically you can get away with about 4 inches difference in width. i've ran numerous sets of 12.5" wide tires on 8" wide rims with ZERO issues.

the only issue is it's going to bulge the sides out more than a wider rim. as long as they're not going to rub on anything you'll be fine.

No the wheels I'm going with have a good offset so there will be no rubbing issues.

On our 03' we run 355/60R20 Tires which calculate to 37/14r20 and have been running them on 9" wide wheels for 3 years now. Now problems at all.
