2003 wheels on a 1996
do anyone know forsure if a set of stock wheels off a 2003 will fit on a 1996. I made the mistake of selling my stock wheels off my 1996 and now Im looking to get new tires and am wishing I had them back. so if anyone out there knows if they will fit let me know.
thanks
thanks
All GM 8 bolt rims have the same bolt patern and spacing as the 8 bolt Dodge and the 8 bolt Ford rims (Ford trucks before the Super Duty era). The catch with GM is the size of the opening in the center of the rim that the axle goes threw is just a bit smaller (1/4 inch) diameter than the rest. If the rims are aluminum, you can use a router (wood working tool) to open that hole up to the size you need. Also, any aftermarket rims were built to fit all of the big three's trucks (old ford patern). The other thing to be concerned with is the diameter of your rear brake drum. It will probably mandate 16 inch diameter rims or larger.
I've got a set of aftermarket rims on my truck that came of of a chevy 3/4 ton. They cost me $75 and a coupe cans of spray paint. Check your local junk yards.

thanks, very helpful now the trick is to find something for under $100. I really am wishing now that i wouldnt have sold my old wheels since i have to put 285/75r16 tires or bigger on the rims I have, well i guess I wont make tha mistake again
