I am just wanting to know which turbo's you guys are running to help me get a new one for my truck, i just want one that will cool the egt's a bit with a little added power, don't need one for a 500 horse monster... just yet

 

Depends on your budget and your horsepower goals. If you're happy where you're at, just keep it stock. If you think you might go with a bit more power down the road, upgrade to the Garrett GTP38R. A rebuilt stock replacement is about $650 while a 38R is about $1600

 

What he said more or less... You could add a 1.00 exhaust housing which would lower your EGT's a bit, or a Van turbo is a good bet as well...

 

i'm not going to go much past about 350 to the wheel for now, i'm in the process of saving up for a long block from Wide Open Performance, but i don't want to spend much over 1,650

 

if you have 1600 to spend go with the 38R you will be bappy with it.

 

Bappy huh? Whats that? Is that when your Pappy pays for it...

 

 

It sounds like you would be good with the 38R. You also won't need to worry about changing the tunes to match because the ones you have will work great the 38R.
