The LBZ is pretty solid in stock form. They have piston cracking issues when you start to push the hp though. They upgrade the same as anything else except with a Dmax you don't NEED to do injectors right away to make any sort of power. Anything 100hp or more over stock and you'll have trans limp problems.

'06 is a great year, as far as I've seen they are problem free. Jump on it for sure. '06 had all of the previous issues addressed. Better turbo, injector design, upgraded stronger transmission, no head gasket issues.

LOVE my 06 LBZ, better than my 05 cummins just watch for oil leaks up front, the damn trans cooler lines have a tendancy to leak

Probably but I've got 1/4 the cost of a used Duracrap into my truck and it will still be running when the Duracraps are in the junk heap. I'll bet you talked up the 6.2's, and 6.5's before the Duracrap came out didn't ya

There might be crap in my engine bay but at least it's not sitting in the driver's seat. Now run along

Like previously posted the 06-07 classic with the LBZ are a good unit. The trans lines tho will need to be addressed. Not a big deal just get a new set made up with different fittings and they'll be good till she is dead..Theres always a few little leaks like the t-case and rear trans output seal, big deal. For Performance wise I guess EFI live then your programmer line lots out there like PPE,EDGE,H&S I'm hearing are real nice too. I know of quit a few with big miles on them, One is a LMM that pulls 5 wheels from the U.S. to Can , it has 250,000 mi with no real problems other than regular maintainence. What is your plans if you do buy it?
